The Top 10 Hard Seltzers Of 2020
Announcing Our Top 10 Hard Seltzers of 2020
It goes without saying that we’re all extremely excited to say farewell to 2020. That said, there have been some silver linings. One of those exciting developments has been the rapid introduction and availability of new spiked seltzers. From new brands to innovative flavors, Seltzer Nation is thrilled to see the rapid increase in popularity of these tasty beverages.
So what makes a good hard seltzer? At Seltzer Nation, we give high scores to seltzers that taste like they’re supposed to taste. If it’s labeled as blackberry, does it actually taste like blackberry? Or does it taste more like a sour blueberry? In addition to what we taste, it’s what we don’t taste. Sure, there’s always going to be some alcohol flavor present, but we prefer those with a milder aftertaste that almost make you forget the alcohol completely.
Determining the Top 10 Hard Seltzers of 2020 was no easy task. The number of worthy options was plentiful. The internal debates amongst our panelists even got heated at times. But we’re excited about the final list. While there are countless options in our database not listed here, we’re confident that any of these all-stars would make a strong addition to your next event.
So without further ado and in no particular order, we’re pleased to announce our choices for the Top 10 Hard Seltzers of 2020.
— Funky Buddha isn’t a new name in the alcohol beverage market. It’s been known for making innovative beer flavors and won many awards. But this Florida based brewery has now expanded in to premium hard seltzers and have hit a home run with their Juicy Blood Orange flavor. Its sweet and delicious and is highly likely to become your favorite spiked sparkling water flavor by Bon Viv, or by any company for that matter.
— The taste is immaculate, crisp, and clean. It is refreshing and delicious. It leaves you with this desire for having more despite it quenching your thirst immediately. While its taste is very evocative of pineapple juice, it’s still a noticeably light drink. The beverage has no minerally or beer-like fermented aftertaste, but the mischievous bubbles leave your tongue with a tingly sensation. The carbonation makes its presence known but the flavor in all its delicate glory still steals the thunder.
— Coors Mango Hard Seltzer is probably one of the best spiked sparkling waters around. Coors is a reputed beer company but its seltzer line is strong. This mango flavor, in particular, is a complete winner. It even smells amazing and has the perfect carbonation for year-round refreshment. Does it taste 100% like mangoes? Not necessarily. But its bouquet of fruity flavors tastes so magnificent that no one really cares.
— Luscious and juicy, Mighty Swell Peach Spiked Seltzer has the glamour and old-world charm of Georgia. Add to that the freshness of real peaches and you basically have Georgia’s essence in a can. — White Claw Tangerine Hard Seltzer tastes exactly like a tangerine that was injected with just a touch of alcohol. Tangerine, which is the sweeter sibling of the orange, is less acidic and more sweet. And White Claw has nailed that taste difference in this hard seltzer. The flavor and perfume is undeniably citrus and is as sentimental as it is refreshing. There is no mineral type of after taste, and it is as smooth in your last sip as it is in your first.
— People typically anticipate the advent of fall with the flavor of Pumpkin Spice showing up everywhere even before the leaves on trees start to change. And it’s a fall favorite for sure. But after one sip of this Apple Crisp Seltzer from Bud Light’s seasonal Ugly Sweater Pack, you’ll realize that Pumpkin Spice is no longer the brand ambassador of the coming holiday season. But it’s clearly now Apple Crisp. Its wholesome and authentic flavor will evoke happy holiday memories.
