Announcing Our Top 10 Hard Seltzers of 2020

It goes without saying that we’re all extremely excited to say farewell to 2020. That said, there have been some silver linings. One of those exciting developments has been the rapid introduction and availability of new spiked seltzers. From new brands to innovative flavors, Seltzer Nation is thrilled to see the rapid increase in popularity of these tasty beverages.

So what makes a good hard seltzer? At Seltzer Nation, we give high scores to seltzers that taste like they’re supposed to taste. If it’s labeled as blackberry, does it actually taste like blackberry? Or does it taste more like a sour blueberry? In addition to what we taste, it’s what we don’t taste. Sure, there’s always going to be some alcohol flavor present, but we prefer those with a milder aftertaste that almost make you forget the alcohol completely.

Determining the Top 10 Hard Seltzers of 2020 was no easy task. The number of worthy options was plentiful. The internal debates amongst our panelists even got heated at times. But we’re excited about the final list. While there are countless options in our database not listed here, we’re confident that any of these all-stars would make a strong addition to your next event.

It’s perhaps the only real blood orange hard sparkling water around and a darn good one at that. The flavor profile is so light and refreshing that you could drink it all day long.

Bon Viv Pear Elderflower Spiked Seltzer

— Bon Viv Pear Elderflower Spiked Seltzer is a sophisticated drink that also translates well into a party drink. It is succulent and floral and acts well as a stand alone drink as well as a mixer for a cocktail. It isn’t very sparkly and has a consistent flavor with every sip. Its sweet and delicious and is highly likely to become your favorite spiked sparkling water flavor by Bon Viv, or by any company for that matter.

White Claw Pineapple Hard Seltzer 70

— The taste is immaculate, crisp, and clean. It is refreshing and delicious. It leaves you with this desire for having more despite it quenching your thirst immediately. While its taste is very evocative of pineapple juice, it’s still a noticeably light drink.
