LaCroix Hi-Biscus Sparkling Water Is Peculiar To Say The Least

LaCroix Hi-Biscus Sparkling Water— It’s a cherry. It’s fruit punch. It’s LaCroix Hi-Biscus Sparkling Water! If one was to shut their eyes and imagine what a rose or lavender flower would taste like, we would definitely conjure up some pretty tangible tastes and fragrances. In fact, the scent would lend itself to to nudge our taste buds to decide what they would taste like. Since many might not have any fragrance in mind when it comes to the hibiscus flower, well it could be anything. So LaCroix has taken it upon themselves to accept this challenge and put a taste to this exotic and mysterious creation of nature. But perhaps the challenge was too great.

Keeps You Guessing

If someone were to be blindfolded they would not be able to guess that this was hibiscus. But that is also because they don’t know what a hibiscus flower tastes or smells like. What would they say it tasted like? There are about 20 flavors going on at one time. It almost tastes like fruit punch with a slightly floral finish. The mind races trying to pinpoint the sweet fragrant flavor but can’t narrow it down. It surrenders and decides it doesn’t need to define it, just appreciate its complexity. There also seems to be the presence of black cherry in its flavor profile. It is as if the same bee that pollinated the black cherry took some of her sweetness and mixed it with the hibiscus flower’s perfume. The combination is heady, sweet and nectar-like.

LaCroix Hi-Biscus Sparkling Water Busts With Bubbles

LaCroix waters are known for their robust carbonation. And this sparkling water flavor is no different. It has a notable presence of bubbles that is fantastic. And when coupled with the sweet, fruity, floral flavor makes for a refreshing drink. This also makes a great high-end cocktail with just a dash of your favorite alcohol. Or pour some grapefruit in it and serve as a bubbly pink non-alcoholic brunch drink. The possibilities are endless since this fruity beverage hasn’t been pinned down and stereotyped yet and probably won’t be anytime soon.

High Expectations But Mild Results

The scent is mild but distinct. It has an air of mystery and keeps you guessing. It has a honey-like sweetness which doesn’t come from sugar. And this botanical beverage is naturally “essenced” like all other LaCroix flavors. There is no sodium, gluten, or presence of any of the major allergens. Actually, the only annoying thing about the LaCroix Hi-biscus Sparkling Water is that it is so difficult to define. LaCroix has a reputation with some as being fancy or, some might say, pretentious. And having a hibiscus flavor probably definitely furthers their reputation in that regard. But this drink is light, has no calories, and is sweet with the most perfect carbonation levels. It may not be the best-tasting sparkling water out there, but it’s definitely interesting and worth a try if you’re looking for something unique.
