Update on Monster The Beast Unleashed

Monster Energy The Beast Unleashed

Here at Seltzer Nation, we try to be very patient. It’s not always easy. We get excited about beverage launches, and hiccups happen. Delays happen. We understand that. When Monster the Beast Unleashed teased us with a 2022 release, we were checking every couple of days for an update, ready to unleash the beasts. When the brand later said that they were instead launching in January 2023, we were combing the liquor aisles, ready to try all of the fabulous flavors. Well, the last days of January are slipping away, and the beast is still very much contained. That’s why we were ecstatic when the Monster the Beast Unleashed website went live with an official update. “Coming to Life February 2023!”

Everything We Know

Monster the Beast Unleashed is releasing four flavors, Mean Green, White Haze, Peach Perfect, and Scary Berries. These flavors will come in 16 oz single-serve cans and 12-packs of 12 oz slim cans. Mean Green is modeled on the flavor of the original Monster Energy drink. White Haze should taste similar to the citrusy Monster Energy Zero Ultra as it is based on that flavor. Monster is modeling Perfect Peach on the Monster Energy flavor Ultra Peachy Keen. All of the Monster the Beast Unleashed flavors will not contain caffeine. You heard us right. These drinks are not original-recipe Four Lokos reborn. We repeat, Monster the Beast Unleashed does not have caffeine.

“Our original crew has been making drinks for 30+ years now,” the packaging reads, “Our favorite brand Monster is about to turn 21. We figure why not celebrate the big day by making an adult beverage. We hit delete on the energy blend, cut out the caffeine, and ditched the sugar. Next, we brewed up the smoothest tasting alcohol ever and blended it with our tried and true flavors. The Beast is Unleashed! Great taste, six point “oh my” percent alcohol, and no sugar to weigh you down.”

The Details

Monster is planning a “phased rollout” of its new line of flavors. This means that The Beast Unleashed will first hit the shelves in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio. About two months later, the distribution will extend to Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Tennessee, and Texas. Then, about two months after that, The Beast Unleashed will be available nationwide. These FMBs (flavored malt beverages) by Monster have an ABV of 6%. The drinks have 130 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 3-4 grams of carbohydrates (depending on the flavor) per 12 oz serving. The drinks are made as malt beverages with natural flavors and artificial sweeteners.

This isn’t the last we’re going to see from Monster in the alcoholic beverage sector. The brand is already planning new The Beast Unleashed flavors, including Killer Kiwi and a yet-unnamed orange drink. The brand is also hoping to release a line of hard teas.
