Truly is Ready to Roll Out Something a Little Extra in 2021

— Truly believes consumers are looking for something a little harder and after a trial run over the summer, Truly Spiked and Sparkling Hard Seltzer is giving their brand an extra boost of alcohol.

Black Raspberry and Peach Mango were not only new flavor offerings from the Boston Beer Company’s Truly line of hard seltzers, but the alcohol by volume will also be boosted from 5% to 8%.

Truly is making a run at the top dog in the hard seltzer world, White Claw, and is hoping their new line with higher ABV can continue the run of success for the company. Third quarter earnings for the Sam Adams brewer were up just over 80% from a year ago. That 36 million dollar increase for Boston Beer is almost exclusively thanks to Truly and the original 13 flavor hard seltzer lineup.

The company is not only hitting the market in the new year with harder seltzer, they are also rolling out Truly Iced Tea Hard Seltzer as well as new flavors and packaging.

In 2016 Truly hit the streets for Boston Beer and in a crowded hard seltzer market and turbulent 2020, it outperformed all the new entrants into the seltzer wars.  Boston Beer and its co-founder and chairman, Jim Koch, is not new to success in a crowded market.  Samuel Adams was leader in the craft beer explosion and Truly’s run of success helped Koch make Forbes’ list of the 400 richest people for the first time.
