We’ve all been there. You pick up a canned cocktail that everyone has been raving about, and, boy, is it delicious! It tastes as good as (if not better than) the cocktail equivalent you order at the bar. You could drink the entire pack and not get tired of the flavor. Then, you look at the calorie count and it’s… hold the phone… three-hundred-and fifty-calories? Drink the whole pack? You’re no longer sure that you should drink the whole can. Probably not the best idea to keep this as your drink of choice (unless you’re on a 5,000 calorie diet). Unfortunately, many of the best tasting drinks come with a high calorie count.  Some drinkers don’t care about this, but for those of us who do, these drinks are unfortunately banned from our refrigerators.

Fortunately, not every delicious alcoholic beverage comes with a high calorie count. On the contrary, there are several hard seltzer and canned cocktail brands that are dedicated to keeping their calorie count low without sacrificing delicious flavor. We’ve compiled a list of seven brands that offer low-calorie hard seltzers and canned cocktails. These are some of the lowest-calorie alcoholic drinks you can buy (or order). More specifically, these drinks have 90 calories or less. Furthermore, every brand on this list comes highly recommended by our testing and reviewing team. So, without further ado, here are seven brands offering low calorie alcoholic drinks.

Sparkling Ice Spiked

Availability: Nationwide.

Sparkling Ice Spiked Hard Seltzer comes to us from Seattle, Washington. It is the alcoholic version of the popular flavored sparkling water brand Sparkling Ice. Sparkling Ice Spiked has come out with a traditional pack of flavors and a cocktail pack. The cocktail pack is higher in calories, so we are focusing on the traditional flavors. The traditional flavors are Cherry Lime Cooler, Lemonade Refresher, Ruby Fizz, and Strawberry Citrus Smash. Like its non-alcoholic counterpart, the traditional flavors of Sparkling Ice Spiked have 0 grams of sugar. These drinks contain only 80 calories per can and an alcohol content of 4% ABV. These hard seltzers are sweet and full of flavor. According to our testers, Sparkling Ice Spiked is “easy to drink… maybe too easy. This one could get someone a little tipsy before they knew it!”

Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer

Availability: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC, and West Virginia.

Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer comes from the Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The brand prides itself on its funky and tropical flavors, including Exotic Passionfruit Dragon Fruit, Smooth Pineapple Coconut, Tangy Kiwi Tangerine, Bright Starfruit, Tropical Mango Guava, Lush Key Lime Cherry, Juicy Blood Orange, and Crisp Pink Grapefruit. The alcohol content of these low calorie alcoholic drinks is 4.5% ABV which is on the low-average side for hard seltzers. If you find a favorite among the many flavors, the brand even offers free desktop wallpaper on its website. The flavors have zero grams of sugar and 1 gram of carbohydrates. These drinks taste natural and tropical. The high level of carbonation makes these hard seltzers refreshing,. The flavor is sweet but not overly so.

Epic Western

Availability: Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Epic Western Cocktail Co. is a brand straight out of San Antonio, Texas. The brand offers tequila-based canned cocktails using 100% blue agave tequila blanco straight from Jalisco, Mexico. While the calories are low for these ready-to-drink cocktails, the alcohol content is high. These drinks range from 8%-10% ABV. For comparison, a 12 oz canned cocktail at 10% ABV is equivalent to two full 1.5 oz shots of tequila at 40% ABV. Unfortunately, like the majority of drinks on this list, this brand isn’t nationally distributed quite yet, but they are rapidly spreading to states across the nation. The Tequila canned cocktails come in three flavors, Ranch Water, La Paloma, and Chispa Rita. The tequila in these canned cocktails tastes smooth and clean. You can immediately taste the quality of the tequila.

Spyk’d Hard Seltzer

Availability: Florida.

Spyk’d Hard Seltzer is a product of Fort Myers Brewing Co., a popular brewery in the city of Fort Myers, Florida. The brand offers an array of fun flavors, including Mojito, Orange, Cherry Limeade, Strawberry Lime, Watermelon, Lemon Lime, and Pineapple. These hard seltzers contain 0 grams of sugar or carbs, and they are gluten free. The alcohol content is 5% ABV, which is in line with most hard seltzers by top brands, such as White Claw and Truly. Another benefit is that these low calorie alcoholic drinks have all-natural ingredients. If you’re looking for a drink with no sugar or carbs, then anything from Fort Myers Brewing Co.’s hard seltzer line is a good choice. These hard seltzers tend to have a great variance in flavor. Some of the flavors are extremely strong, while others are light and refreshing. The carbonation is excellent, and you can’t taste the booze whatsoever, so be careful not to drink too much in one sitting.

Quirk Hard Seltzer

Quirk Hard Seltzer is another brand brought to us from a popular brewery; this one is from Boulevard Brewing Co. in Kansas City, Missouri. Quirk has a long list of flavors that are (as the title implies) quirky. These flavors are Strawberry Lemon and Basil, Blueberry Lemon and Lavender, Cherry Blossom and Lime, Blackberry Sage, Pear Yuzu, Hibiscus Lemonade, Watermelon, Salt and Lime, Grapefruit Twist, Raspberry Rocket Pop, Key Lime Coconut, Pineapple Chili, Passionfruit Orange, Mango Punch, Cranberry Apple Cinnamon, Peach Apricot Whip, Pineapple Orange Whip, Raspberry Lime Whip, and Strawberry Banana Whip. Now try to say that whole list all in one breath. Basically, there is something for everyone on that list. These drinks also come with the benefit of having less than a gram of sugar and all-natural ingredients. Quirk Hard Seltzers have a lower alcohol content than the average hard seltzer, coming in at 4% ABV. Quirk Hard Seltzers tend to have a lighter flavor. They’re fizzy and refreshing. These drinks are perfect for when you want a fun, light flavor that’s not overpowering.

Alpha Water Premium Hard Seltzer

Availability: Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Alpha Water Hard Seltzer is the fourth brand we’re featuring on this list from a brewing company. Clearly, there is something about being established in the art of brewing that lends itself well to producing drinks with low calorie counts. Alpha Water comes from New Realm Brewing Company. The brand offers four flavors, Citrus Punch, Lime and Cucumber, Acai and Blueberry, and Black Cherry. These low calorie alcoholic drinks are all-natural and sugar-free. In addition to that, they only have 1 gram of carbohydrates per can. These drinks have a good level of carbonation and are light and crisp. Our testers exclaimed, “(We) can’t stop looking at the can. It’s so pretty! This is a clean drink. Very natural tasting!”

Scarlet Letter Spiked Seltzer

Availability: Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Scarlet Letter is a fun craft seltzer brand that comes from Arkansas. The brand has three flavors that they title Red, Purple, and Green. Red features the flavors of cucumber, lime, ginger, and hibiscus. The flavor Green contains a long list of flavors, including pear, kiwi, bergamot, basil, and lemon. Purple is made with passionfruit, elderflower, coriander, and key lime. These drinks have less than a gram of carbohydrates and zero sugar. The alcohol content is 4.3% ABV. According to our testers, Scarlet Letter’s “flavors were unique and unlike anything we’ve had in the seltzer world so far!” Our testers also proclaimed that these drinks must have been created by a team of mixologists as the flavors were so complex and yet delicious.
