Brand New C-Store Neon Burst Hard Drinks

Anheuser-Busch recently announced the nationwide release of their convenience store (c-store) beverage Neon Burst Hard Drinks. As all drink connoisseurs know, your beverage is only perfect if it matches the moment. If you’re eating a gourmet meal, you might choose a fine wine spritz or craft canned cocktail to pair with your dinner. If you’re enjoying a night out, low-cal, sessionable hard seltzers and RTDs are the way to go. But if you’re running down to the liquor store for a tall can to enjoy a one-and-done beverage while hanging with your buddies, Neon Burst Hard Drinks are a perfect choice. USA’s leading alcohol beverage company, Anheuser-Busch, created Neon Burst Hard Drinks with convenience store patrons in mind. Gamers. Sports fans. Parents seeking 30-minutes of peace, this one is for you.

Neon Burst Hard DrinksNeon Burst Hard Drinks come in two flavors, Punch Blast and Grape Blowout. As the names suggest, these are full-flavored beverages. In their press release on Brew Bound, the brand describes their Punch Blast, “Each sip is a blend of tropical fruit flavors including pineapple, passionfruit, orange, raspberry, cherry, and apple.” For Grape Blowout, “Each sip is an explosion of grape flavor and citrus tartness.” These drinks are available nationwide at local c-stores. The drinks come in 25 oz and 16 oz single cans. As the alcohol content is 8%  ABV, one 25 oz can of Neon Burst is roughly equivalent to drinking four to five glasses of wine. You’ll likely get a buzz but not from the sugary sweetness. The sugar, carb, and calorie content are lower than many other c-store options, coming in at 170 calories, 5 carbs, and 2-3 grams of sugar per 12 oz serving.

Anheuser-Busch Beyond Beer

Anheuser-Busch is an American beer company based in St. Louis, Missouri. With over 120 years under their belt, the brand ranked as the top-selling alcohol company in the world in 2020. Since 2018, the company has looked beyond their beer portfolio to offer hard seltzers, spirits-based seltzer, canned cocktail, wine, hard spirits, and even water. Their Beyond Beer brands include Bon V!V, Cutwater Spirits, NÜTRL Vodka Seltzers, Kombrewcha, and Hi ball Energy. They are an innovator in the alcohol industry, predicting consumer trends in order to deliver exactly what customers desire. Anheuser-Busch sometimes does this even before the customers know that they want that type of product. The alcohol giant attempts to be among the first on the ground for consumer trends. This is what the company did with Neon Burst. The brand saw a growing need for c-store hard drinks, predicting that it’s a fast-growing category.

“When you evaluate what’s happening at c-store, you’re seeing a highly engaged customer help grow full-flavored, 6%-8% ALC./VOL. beverages to a $1B category,” said Joanie Kwok, a Senior Brand Director at Anheuser-Busch. “We saw an opportunity to shake things up with this new product that’s exactly what this evolving consumer is currently looking for.”
