Fresca Mixed Rolls Out Across the Nation

There’s something about Coca-Cola Co.’s Fresca. For those new to Fresca, it’s a grapefruit soda that has been a popular low-calorie soda and alcohol mixer since 1966. Fresca is a classic mixer for spirits such as vodka and tequila. It’s even safe to say Fresca has become a cult classic. The mixer has achieved its own following of faithful worshipers. Therefore, it surprised no one when Fresca fans went wild at the news that the popular soda was coming out with a ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail version, Fresca Mixed.

Well, the wait is over. The Coca-Cola Co. and Constellation Brands Inc. just broke the news that Fresca Mixed has hit the shelves.

“We are thrilled to launch Fresca Mixed, a new line of premium, pre-mixed cocktails that bring together the deliciously bright and citrusy classic taste of FRESCA and real vodka or tequila, alongside The Coca-Cola Company,” Constellation Brands Vice President of Brand Marketing for FRESCA™ Mixed said in a press release last Thursday. “We can’t wait for both lifelong FRESCA fans as well as new friends to the brand to enjoy these delicious, light cocktails in both Vodka Spritz and Tequila Paloma all year long.”

The Flavors

Fresca Mixed canned cocktails come in two flavors, Tequila Paloma and Vodka Spritz. The Tequila Paloma canned cocktail is a mix of Fresca and real tequila blanco from Mexico. In the Thursday press release from Constellation Brands, the brand describes the flavor as “a modern and sophisticated take on the classic Paloma cocktail.” They add that the Tequila Paloma canned cocktail is “smooth and easy to enjoy.” The brand describes its Vodka Spritz as “a delicious cocktail that mixes the light and classic taste of FRESCA® with real vodka distilled four times.”

Low Calorie, High Flavor

One of the greatest appeals of Coca-Cola’s popular grapefruit soda is that Fresca has a strong, delicious flavor while at the same time it has 0 calories, 0-1 gram(s) of carbs, and 0 grams of sugar. While Fresca Mixed doesn’t have the 0-calorie content of the soda version, the canned cocktail does keep its calories to only 100 calories per can. Additionally, the Tequila Paloma contains only 1.6 grams of carbs, while the Vodka Spritz has 1.3 grams. Both drinks contain zero grams of sugar and are gluten-free. All that and these ready-to-drink cocktails have an alcohol content of 5% ABV.

Coca-Cola Co. Becomes a Leader in the Adult Beverage Industry

Coca-Cola only ventured into the alcoholic beverage industry in 2018, but the company has already celebrated many successes through its partnerships with brand leaders in the alcoholic beverage industry. The launch of Fresca Mixed comes on the heels of the success of a partnership between Coca-Cola and Molson Coors, producing Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Simply Spiked Lemonade. Coca-Cola similarly partnered with Constellation Brands for the production and distribution of Fresca Mixed. On top of that, Coca-Cola has more RTDs planned, including a plan to launch Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola in late 2022.

Fresca Mixed is available in 12 oz single-flavor four-packs. Find a retailer near you on the Fresca Mixed website.
