Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola RTD Cocktail is Available Now
Coca-Cola and Jack Daniel’s RTD Cocktail
A “Jack and Coke” is a popular bar cocktail made with Coca-Cola and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. However, a Jack and Coke is more than just a cocktail; it’s a piece of American History. Both brands developed in the United States back in the late 1800s, but it wasn’t until prohibition that the iconic cocktail came into being. According to an article in Wine Enthusiast, the Jack and Coke cocktail developed in speakeasies and underground clubs. Patrons started ordering liquors by the brand name to avoid dangerous home-brewed alcohol. Previous to prohibition, a patron would more than likely order a whiskey and not bother asking for a specific brand.
Launching nationwide today, March 30, 2023, the two iconic brands are joining forces to deliver a ready-to-drink cocktail version of the Jack and Coke cocktail to the United States. You heard that right. The Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola RTD is available now at your local liquor store.
“We are excited to introduce the quintessential Jack & Coke cocktail to consumers in a consistent, convenient and portable format,” said Dallas Cheatham, Jack Daniel’s RTD Brand Director, in a March 30, 2023 press release. “While Jack & Coke is a cocktail consumers have known and enjoyed across the world, with origins dating back more than a century, we are proud to officially launch Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola RTD and bring these two iconic brands together in a RTD format for the first time in the U.S.”
Two Pieces of Classic Americana “Together at Last”
According to the Jack Daniel’s website, the Coca-Cola & Jack Daniel’s RTD Cocktail comes in two varieties, the classic cocktail and a no-sugar version. The classic cocktail contains 270 calories and 38 grams of carbs and sugar. The no-sugar version, on the other hand, contains only 140 calories and 0 grams of carbs and sugar. Both drinks have an alcohol content of 7% ABV, which is on the strong side for canned cocktails. The RTDs contain Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 whiskey, which the brand describes as “Charcoal mellowed. Drop by drop.”
