Topo Chico Aguas Frescas

Topo Chico Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzer

Did you know that the first Aguas Frescas were made by the Aztecs centuries ago? That’s how Mexican folklore tells it, anyway. Now, Aguas Frescas are popular Mexican drinks that you can buy from street vendors as well as in restaurants. They are growing in popularity in the United States as well, especially in areas with high Mexican-American populations. The drinks usually contain fresh fruit, water, lime juice, and sugar. Topo Chico, Coca-Cola’s mineral water turned hard seltzer brand (in partnership with Molson Coors), just released a brand new line of Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzers. The pairing couldn’t be more perfect as Topo Chico has its own folklore legend stemming from the time of Aztec King Moctezuma I Ilhuicamina. These brand-new Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzers by Topo Chico are available now for a limited time.

“The new Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzer flavors are a delicious and refreshing addition to the Topo Chico Hard Seltzer lineup,” said Joy Ghosh, vice president of marketing for the above premium flavor portfolio at Molson Coors Beverage. “This new lineup is full of flavor, as you’d expect from aguas frescas-style beverages, but also has the crisp, refreshing taste that Topo Chico Hard Seltzer is known for.”

Four Brand New Delicious Flavors

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer Aguas FrescasTopo Chico Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzers are available now in four flavors. The flavors are Passionfruit Mango, Citrus Tamarind, Ripe Watermelon, and Hibiscus Lime. In an emailed press release from Molson Coors, the brand describes Passionfruit Mango as “tropical” and “perfectly balanced for a bright and refreshing taste.” Citrus Tamarind is a “bright citrus flavor” that is “rich and fruity.” Ripe Watermelon is “sweet,” “crisp,” and “refreshing.” Last but not least, Hibiscus Lime is “well-balanced,” having a “floral and honey taste.” The drinks have an alcohol content of 4% ABV, which is lower than Topo Chico Hard Seltzer’s other offerings (which have an ABV of 4.5-4.7%). These Aguas Frescas Hard Seltzers contain 100 calories and 4 grams of carbs and sugar per 12 oz can. The drinks are “full flavor,” just like you’d expect from an Agua Fresca from a street vendor in Mexico.
