White Claw’s First Full Flavor Series

White Claw just surprised fans worldwide with their brand new hard seltzer line. In a Monday press release from White Claw, the brand announced that White Claw Surf will be their first “full flavor” series. What are these flavors you ask?

White Claw Surf has four brand new flavors: Citrus Yuzu Smash, Tropical Pomelo Smash, Watermelon Lime Smash, and Wildberry Acai Smash.

Unique Flavor Combinations

If you’re not familiar with some of the words in these new flavors, you are not alone. Each of the new Surf flavors features something a bit unique. Citrus Yuzu Smash contains lemon and yuzu, a Japanese winter citrus fruit that looks like a lemon but tastes more similar to a grapefruit. Tropical Pomeo Smash features lime, orange, and lemon along with the Indonesian pomelo. Pomelos are closely related to grapefruit but taste sweeter and less tangy. Both fruits are becoming increasingly popular in the United States. The lime juice in the Watermelon Lime Smash is cold-pressed, which is a process of crushing fruits to extract all their flavors and nutrients. The much more commonly known acai berry originates from Brazil and has a bitter-sweet flavor. In the Wildberry Acai Smash, White Claw counteracts the tart berry with the sweetness of “ripe wildberries”.

Something New

In their Monday press release, John Shea, Chief Marketing Officer, states, “White Claw Surf is a breakthrough new idea that combines full flavors with sensational refreshment and the incredible sessionability expected from White Claw®. It is our next exciting addition and something completely new and different in the world of seltzer.”

While most of the individual fruit ingredients are familiar features of White Claw’s other flavors, the new arrivals are notable. On top of that, the flavor combinations are not only unique, but they are also their only products that feature dual-flavor and multi-flavor combinations. There are many new attributes to White Claw Surf; however, the brand is keeping with their standard 5% ABV cans with 100 calories. The drinks will be available in twelve can flavor variety packs.

Surf’s Up!

Here in the Americas, surfing season is 365 days a year, and White Claw is saying that’s not enough. The brand is rolling out their new flavors with a campaign called “Surf Like No Other”. In this campaign, White Claw has teamed up with professional surfers Ivy Miller, Hunter Jones, and Blair Conklin for the launch of their series and the SurfTour. The SurfTour includes commercials with the trio surfing snowy mountain tops, sand dunes, rivers, fountains, and more. In the “Surf Like No Other” SurfTour these professional surfers prove that there are no limits to surfing.

According to their promotional videos, the SurfTour goes for six days. You can follow their progress on White Claw’s social media accounts. The campaign will also include promotion by the athletes. At the close of those six days, the SurfTour ends at the SXSW Conference and Festivals where White Claw is an official sponsor. Attendees will be among the first to get the chance to taste White Claw Surf Hard Seltzer flavors.
