Press Pear Chamomile

Press Pear Chamomile is Perfect for Brunches and Day Spas

Chamomile is an herb known for its calming and soothing qualities. It’s most often found in teas. In fact, when we think of chamomile, we think of tea houses serving steaming tea in fancy teacups alongside tiny sandwiches. That was why we were a little surprised to learn about the use of chamomile as an ingredient in Press Pear Chamomile hard seltzer. Press Pear Chamomile combines the unique flavors of pear and chamomile, both of which are rarely found in hard seltzers. It seems as if every sip offers a new and intriguing flavor combination. The uniqueness is what makes this Press hard seltzer so intriguing to us. Another intriguing feature is the light alcohol content, containing only 4% ABV per 12-ounce can. Given the unique nature and reputation of this hard seltzer, we decided to try it out for ourselves. Here are our thoughts, along with more details about the ingredients and an overall recommendation from the Seltzer Nation testers.

A Delicate and Light Pear and Chamomile Flavor

When you crack open a can of Press Pear Chamomile Hard Seltzer and inhale its aroma, you cannot identify the scent easily. However, there is a subtle hint of aroma that you may detect. Unlike many seltzers, where the aroma provides a preview of the taste, this is one where you are in for a surprise with your first sip. As it pertains to the flavor, the pear is prominent with each sip. However, the chamomile is what makes this hard seltzer flavor truly unique. It is uncommon to come across a hard seltzer that features chamomile. Initially, we thought the chamomile might be incredibly mild. However, this was not the case. You can taste it clearly, and it is delicious. However, the flavor is relatively light and does not overpower you. Perhaps the best word to describe this hard seltzer is “classy.”

A Malt-Based Beverage with a Unique Flavor

This is a malt-based beverage (according to the packaging). Along with the malt base, Press makes its Pear Chamomile hard seltzer with citric acid and gluten-removed fructose. Press Pear Chamomile contains 4% alcohol by volume. This is on the lighter side for hard seltzers. Although the gluten is removed from the fructose, this is not considered a gluten-free hard seltzer. As it pertains to the calories, there are only 110 calories per can. There are 5 grams of sugar and 7 grams of carbohydrates.

A Great Option

Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Press Pear Chamomile is how classy it is. The unique ingredients and light taste make this drink perfect for accompanying a meal. With only 4% ABV, you do not have to worry as much about over-indulging. However, there is a subtle kick of alcohol that you may desire as well. We recommend this hard seltzer for more casual drinking experiences earlier in the day, such as during brunch with friends or during a relaxing spa visit on the weekend. This hard seltzer leaves you more and more intrigued with every sip that you take. We felt the desire to continue taking small sips to try and recognize the pear and chamomile flavors together. Overall, if you want a classy beverage that drinks similar to spiked tea, then this is a great hard seltzer to try.
